Khmer - Preah Thong And Neang Neak (ព្រះថោងនាងនាគ)

ព្រះថោង តោងស្បៃនាងនាគ គឺជារឿងព្រេងដ៏ល្បីល្បាញមួយនៅក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ហើយក៏ជាផ្នែកមួយនៃវប្បធម៍ប្រពៃណីនៃការរៀបអាពាហ៍ពិពាហ៍របស់ប្រជាជនខ្មែរផងដែរ ដែលកូនកម្លោះតោងស្បៃកូនក្រមុំ។

មិនតែប៉ុណ្ណោះ "ព្រះថោង តោងស្បៃនាងនាគ" ត្រូវបានសាងសង់ឡើងជារូបសំណាក ដែលមានកម្ពស់ជាង២១ម៉ែត្រ ស្ថិតនៅភូមិគគីរ ឃុំបិតត្រាំង ស្រុកព្រៃនប់ ខេត្តព្រះសីហនុ ដែលជាចំណុចប្រសព្វគ្នារវាងមហាវិថីឆ្នេររាម និងមហាវិថីជំទាវម៉ៅ ត្រូវបានរៀបចំពិធីអភិសេកជាផ្លូវការនាព្រឹកថ្ងៃសៅរ៍ ទី១៦ ខែមេសា ដែលត្រូវជាថ្ងៃទីបីនៃពិធីបុណ្យចូលឆ្នាំ។

Preah Thong and Neang Neak is one of Cambodia’s most important legends and forms the foundation of traditional Khmer wedding culture. During wedding ceremonies, the groom ties the bride’s veil, symbolizing the union of Preah Thong and Neang Neak and the origins of the Khmer people.

In recognition of this legend, a monumental Preah Thong–Neang Neak statue, standing over 21 meters tall, was constructed in Kakir Village, Bit Trang Commune, Prey Nop District, Preah Sihanouk Province, at the intersection of Ream Beach Boulevard and Chamteav Mao Boulevard. The official consecration ceremony took place on Saturday morning, April 16, coinciding with the third day of the Khmer New Year celebrations.
